    Editing old website

    Hello,

I designed and maintained a website in FrontPage up to a year ago - then life took over, I lost interest and let it stagnate.

Now, a new home, a new life and I would like to rejuvenate my site (it's still there and I own the domain).

Is it possible for me, when I install Expression Web, to open my site and edit it as I used to? I don't have FrontPage anymore and have nothing saved on my computer but I do have my username and password that I always used in the past.

There was an option in Internet Explorer, under 'Page' which said 'Edit with FrontPage'. Will this appear when I install Expression? If it's not possible I suppose I should try and source FrontPage 2003 somewhere?

    Advice much appreciated.

Yes, though I recommend making a back-up first because it is always a good idea to have a back-up before you start making changes. Since it sounds like you have been working live I would install Expression Web then use File > New > Site and create a local website. The File > Publish to connect to your production server. Then you can publish down (if you were working live use the FrontPage Server Extensiosn radio button for connection type) and bring your whole site down. Then make a copy and archive the copy.

When you install Expression it should update IE to offer "Edit with Expression" but it is much better to edit a local copy then upload the changes when you are finished.

If you look under the tutorials link on this site you will see a short Migration tutorial that may help make your transition easier.
