The tutorials are great! I should have checked them out before now. So far I learned I've been doing things the hard way, now Expression Web is making things so much easier.

 What inspired me to do the tutorial in the way it was done was because I got tired of hearing people complaining about how "hard" it is to use Expression to create a website. As you can see it is possible to never go to code view and requires only a little bit of css knowledge though of course it is better to know more since how else will you fix something when it breaks as it is sure to do sooner or later.

At one point when I was in your class I believe your tutorial wasn't quite ready.  I don't know why but of late I haven't checked back. After downloading this and spending time viewing this today, I have learnt a load of things that I wasn't doing and [2] you had told me in class but I had forgotten.  I found it very instructive and shall be viewing the tutorial much more to get used to the several features which I haven't used.

It was good having you virtually sitting beside me as I tried out some features and your voice is nice and friendly and that helps so much.

Thank you so much for the tutorial video. I enjoyed it immensely. Toward the end of the tutorial you previewed the site in a browser and changed the browser size (I think by clicking on the browser Title area). I have searched the web high and low to find out how to add that functionality.

 While I know the site http://www.brianapps.net/sizer.html says sizer isn't supported on Vista I've been running it on Vista for over a year with no issues as you saw in the Basic Website Video and it also works when right clicking on items in the tajkbar.

I highly recommend it for quick resizing web pages. It is also very handy if you ever have a page somehow get dragged off the screen. I've had that happen a few times where somehow the browser window became very small and more or less hidden off screen or behind the task bar. Resizing to 1024.768 brings it back out.

I clicked the download link, and it opens in WMP. How do I save the file? (or is this how it's supposed to work)? It looks like it's still located on the site, not my computer.

 After it opens in Windows Media Player use the File menus and select "save as". Note it may take a few meinutes before the save as link is active or if you are using IE right click on the download link and select "save target as" and you will be able to browse to where on yoru computer you want to save it.

 Great tutorials. When will be the next training session on Expression Web begin?  I also have a quick question concerning the differences between Firefox/Safari and Explorer when it comes to positioning the h1 in the masthead.  When I give the h1 a top margin of 1em, it looks fine in design view and in Explorer.  When I check in Firefox and Safari, however, the entire masthead has a top margin of 1em and the h1 element stays right where it was.  Did I make a mistake somewhere?  Any easy way to fix it?  Again, great videos. Joe

 Use padding instead of margin - there are difference between how browser apply margin inside of containers.

As for the next class, the current session was extended due to hurricane Ike. Since I am in Houston and we were without power for over a week the whole class schedule is behind. I think it will probably be then end of October but an announcment should be made by the first week of October.

I really appreciate the tutorial -- it was very helpful in helping me to understand how to lay out a website, then build a dynamic web template from it. I had the cart before the horse and thought I had to develop the template first -- then build the site. This tutorial really simplfied the process for me.

 Thanks for the positive comments. A lot of people jump right in and start without any idea of what they are doing. Sometimes that works out fine, I started that way with the very first website I did back in 1993-4 but usually it ends in a lot of unneccesary fustration. There weren't the resources there are now to help and by current standards everything  both websites and editors were very primative. Creating a good website is much harder than it looks.
